You’re the coach of the team and call a simple handoff to the running back, instead the quarterback drops back to pass and is sacked. As he approaches the sidelines he tells you, “Coach, I didn’t believe your play call was the right one, so I changed it up.What would you do in this situation? Get him out of the game, demote him to last string and make him run a hundred laps at practice. We’ve all done that to the God of the Universe saying, “The plays I call are better for my life. We’ve run our own plays, ignored His rules about telling the truth, sexual behavior, and envying others. We haven’t consulted the playbook, or even shown up for practice. While this rebellion raged, Christ died to settle the score. His initiative allows us to get back in the game through confessing, “I’m done running my own plays God, and I’m ready to play the game, your way. From now on, you call the shots and I’ll run your plays!
“While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us Rom 5:8 .
Whose plays have you been running?
