Aftermath of Defeat

Traveling home after a stinging defeat is an unpleasant experience. The team vehicles reverberate with silence and disappointment as the questioning game begins. After hard hitting losses, the prospect of regrouping and achieving victory again can feel improbable amidst the pounding grief. When we experience the distress of consequences from our own sinful choices, the pain gets even deeper. Our biggest desire is to turn the clock back, to take a mulligan and completely reshape the situation. In His grace, God promises to heal and restore our self-inflicted wounds. When we call upon His name, with a sorrowful heart and reverent tone, He guarantees us a new day. On a lonely ride home, encountering Him is a great light!

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning…” Lam. 3:22-23
